Casa Vialba has a long history dating back to 1200 when it was a church belonging to monks. We fell in love with it and bought it in 1998 from Count della Porta whose family has owned Vialba and the surrounding valley since 1730. We restored it with great love and respect for its ancient origins and the surrounding landscape. In 1999 we left London and came to live in the beauty, peace and tranquillity of the valley. So far we have restored the main residence, Lavender House and Olive House. We plan to restore the other annex later.
Casa Vialba is almost a tiny village resting on the gentle flanks of a hill overlooking the river Carpina and the country lane that winds it way up the valley. The main house, its 3 annexes and stables are surrounded by a 60 acre estate of forest and countryside.
From Casa Vialba, the only other buildings you can see are those in the distant village of Montone and the Rocca d'Aires, a medieval castle dominating the valley from its far away hilltop. These beautiful stone houses have been restored to provide all modern comforts while retaining their original charm. You will be living in Lavender House and/or Olive House and/or The Apartment, and while being our guests, you will enjoy the privacy of your own country house. Each house has its own garden, patio, barbeque area and private pool. The apartment has a private entrance and terrace.
The night of their arrival guests in Olive House and Lavender House will be invited to cocktails and a candlelight dinner at the main residence. Thereafter we will let them enjoy their privacy unless they need our assistance. We will do everything to ensure that you spend a truly unforgettable holiday with us at Casa Vialba.
